Sylvestre Campe, one of the world’s most accomplished and daring documentary directors and photographers, specializes in docu-dramas, extreme adventure and cultural films. Most recently, he worked on the Emmy-award-winning reality series, “Amazing Race”, claiming two Emmy award.

He directed the feature film “Extremo Sul,” a film about climbers in Chile’s Patagonia region, earning the Gran Premio Máximo award of Italy’s 2005 Trento Film Festival. He was also awarded the Brazilian Association for Cinematography prize for best director of photography for commercials, 2005.

Campe’s roots in the film industry are deep. From age 11 to 18, he sailed around the world with his family, while he and his father produced a documentary of their adventures for German TV. After his graduation in 1988 from the Rhode Island School of Design, USA, Campe directed and shot his first film climbing the Lhotse Shar, one of the highest peaks in the Himalayas. Since then, he has photographed or directed documentaries from every corner of the globe.
